Exodus 3:14-15

God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’ ”

He also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob has sent me to you.’ “This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.

The Hebrew name for God is:

יהוה

(YHWH) which when translated is “I am

Then when I consider humanity, Genesis 1:26 comes to mind

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

In this verse, we read that we are made in the image of God, which means that we are God’s  “image bearers”

Question: What’s your name?

Answer: I am called “Trevor”, or I am “Trevor” (insert your own name on place of mine)

Extrapolating this argument out means what we’re really saying about ourselves in answering the question of who we are, is that all of us reply that we are God’s image bearers

I am (YHWH), image bearer (your name)

One final thought, some day we’ll receive a new name,

Revelation 2:17

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

But until that day, those new names remain hidden.

Lastly, when things get tough, remember you are made in the image of the Father, who loves you so completely that he gave his only son Jesus to redeem us!

Have a wonderful week, and God bless,

Trev.
