New Year New Image
Genesis 1:26a
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness,
As we are made in the image of God, it stands to reason that our very nature must also reflect the image of God. Unfortunately because sin entered our world when humanity fell to temptation the image that we bear became corrupted which separated us from Father!
Thankfully God sent his son Jesus as the perfect sinless human to be the perfect sacrifice for our sin, and by it provide the way for us to return into a right relationship with Him.
When we accept Jesus as our Saviour we are made new creatures, just as if we had been born again. Having turned away from sin, Christ’s light, righteousness, and holiness, radiates through us as we are transformed into His image that reflects his nature. In this, we are transformed into the true human that God created and always desired us to be when he knit us together in our mothers womb!
Paul writes in Ephesians 4:24b that when we acceot Christ we
“put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness”.
Through Jesus, each of us is brought into a personal relationship with the Father whereby we are drawn closer and closer to Him. As our faith grows His ways become our ways and his thoughts for us become our thoughts. By this, His plans for us are revealed to us and become our plans as we align ourselves with His will.
Jesus Christ the only Son of God, became Emmanuel and entered our world as the perfect human. He was fully human in every way, yet fully Devine. In that perfect human image, he was able to declare,
“Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” John 14:9
In 2025 my prayer is that each of us, covered by Christ's righteousness is brought into a closer fellowship with the Father, whereby His ways become our ways and His thoughts become our thoughts!
Happy New Year, and God bless,
Trev.
